While Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Cardi B refuse to work with the National Football League to perform during the halftime show as a sign of support to former San Francisco 49er QB, Colin Kaepernick.
The self-proclaimed unofficial mayor of Atlanta, Jermaine Dupri, is taking the opportunity to perform at one of the many events that will be taking place throughout Atlanta for it’s hosting of the NFL’s Superbowl LIII
The multi-platinum producer/rapper believes that boycotting is not as effective as it used to be, the efforts are just overlooked, “boycotts and marches don’t seem like they work to me. I’m sorry.”
Dupri instead wants to use the Superbowl as a platform to have social issues be known, “I think they should send a message while they are on stage. Take advantage of your platform.”
