San Francisco Giants owner draws criticism and protest from civil rights activists

Last Updated on

Civil rights attorney, John Burris, and civil rights activist, Dr. John Edwards, have partnered with a growing number of people to boycott the San Francisco Giants after one of the owners, Charles B. Johnson, donated $2,700 to the campaign of Cindy Hyde-Smith, a Republican U.S. Senator from Mississippi who has expressed racist sentiments.

Hyde-Smith is facing Mississippi attorney and former Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Epsy, in a runoff election for senate.

On November 11th, Hyde-Smith was recorded at a campaign rally saying on video saying she would be sitting in the front row if she was invited to a public hanging.
