Washington, D.C. – After serving as a prosecutor on various levels from being the District Attorney for the city and county of San Francisco, and the Attorney General for the state of California.
U.S. Senator (CA) Kamala Harris announced her presidential run for 2020 on the Martin Luther King Jr holiday. Announcing the bid from her alma mater, Howard University. Harris is the fourth woman so far to announce her presidential bid for the 2020 election, but she is the second African-American woman in history to run for president.
The first was Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman to ever have run for president 47 years ago. Harris designed her campaign with the same colors of Chisholm’s as a dedication to her.
