Peoria, Arizona – During the early morning hours of the 4th of July holiday, a 17-year-old child by the name of, Elijah Al-Amin, was stabbed to death in front of a Circle K convenience store.
The alleged attacker, Michael Adams, 27, heard Al-Amin listening to rap music and feared for his life. Adams admits that Al-Amin did nothing to provoke the attack, but said he has previously experienced people who listen to rap music to be violent towards him. Without any hesitation, Adams walked up behind Al-Amin as he stood by a vending machine and stabbed him in the throat. Al-Amin later died at a local hospital.
Adams was arrested and charged with premeditated murder, and later appeared in court that same day. He is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
Just two days before Adams attack on Al-Amin, he was released from the county prison for aggravated assault and theft.
