Congregants turn their backs on Bloomberg

Last Updated on

Selma, Alabama – While making a visit to Brown Chapel AME Church, Bloomberg wasn’t quite welcomed as a group of congregants stood up and turned their backs on him as he addressed the congregation.

Bloomberg was attending the Jubilee Bridge Walk that is held every year in observance of “Bloody Sunday.” The church pastor thought it would be a good opportunity for Bloomberg to stop by the church and reach out to the congregation.

But after Bloomberg didn’t address the controversy surrounding his time as the mayor of NYC and his stop and frisk policies, congregants didn’t want to hear what Bloomberg had to say.
