Charges dismissed against a man who shot at officers during a no-knock warrant

Louisville, Kentucky – WLTX19 is reporting that the Common Wealth of Kentucky has dismissed attempted murder charges against Kenneth Walker. Walker and his girlfriend, Breonna Taylor, was home sleeping when plainclothes police officers of the Louisville Police Department executed a no-knock warrant on their home.

Believing that someone was evading his home, Walker began shooting at the officers. Walker was later apprehended, but his girlfriend died from a gunshot wound.

Upon arrest, Walker was charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault. It was later discovered that the individual the Louisville Police Department was looking for was already in police custody. Walker appeared in court Tuesday and the commonwealth attorney, Tom Wine, asked the judge to dismiss the charges against Walker.
