In 1992, Don Cheadle had a recurring role on the weekly sitcom, “The Golden Palace,” a spinoff of the popular “Golden Girls.”
Cheadle plays, Roland Wilson, the young manager of a hotel that was purchased by the Golden Girls. In this one particular episode, Blanche proudly displays the Confederate Flag on the check-in counter of the hotel.
Cheadle’s character tries to explain to Blanche how the flag displays so much history of racial discrimination, and he refuses to work at an establishment where it is displayed.
