DJ Spinderella speaks out about being excluded from the “Salt-N-Pepa” biopic

After spending 30 years in the music industry and as the DJ to one of Hip Hop’s premier group of ladies. DJ Spinderella speaks out about being excluded in the new Lifetime “Salt-N-Pepa” biopic film.

Entertainment Tonight reported on Spinderella’s expressing her anger Friday about the biopic.

“Sorry but I gotta speak on this Lifetime special. Too often, Black women who have made meaningful contributions in their industry are left out of historical narratives,” she explained. “Back when Salt n’ Pepa was building our legacy, which is rooted in empowering women, I could not have dreamed that this same group would one day disempower me.”

Spinderella also announced on Instagram in May 2019 that she received a termination email from the group earlier that year before the start of a concert.
