An unknown gunman open fires on Buckhead driver

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported that a man is dead after driving through Buckhead and an unknown gunman pulled up beside him and open fire.

The shooting happened along the 2500 block of Piedmont Road at 3 am. The victim had a passenger with him, but she was not injured during the shooting. The victim was shot several times causing him to lose control of his vehicle and wreck into a tree.

The name of the victim was not released and the passenger was treated and released for injuries sustained from the car wreck. The Atlanta Police Department is trying to determine the motive behind the shootings.

In recent months, the Buckhead community has had a string of various crimes in the area, especially at Lenox Mall. In late December, 7- year-old Kennedy Maxie, was riding the backseat of a car with her family when she was struck by a random bullet. The alleged shooter, Daquan Reed, 24, was eventually caught in the state of Virginia.
