Google has completed their acquisition of health and fitness device, Fitbit. For the past 10 years, Fitbit has grown to become a leading company in the industry with over 29 million active users.
Rick Osterloh, Google’s Senior Vice President of Devices & Services, released a statement, “Today, I’m excited to announce that Google has completed its acquisition of Fitbit and I want to personally welcome this talented team to Google… Technology can change the way people manage their health and wellness, and that’s especially important these days. We’ll work closely to create new devices and services that help you enhance your knowledge, success, health and happiness.”
Based out of San Francisco, California, Fitbit employs more than 1,600 and in 2019 the company had a net revenue of $1.42 billion.
