President Biden ends the Trump ban on transgender troops

Monday afternoon President Biden ended Trump’s ban on transgender troops in the military. Biden spoke with reporters and told them that the new order will allow, “qualified Americans to serve their country in uniform.”

In 2017, former President Trump banned transgenders in the military with his common use of tweeting his announcements.

“After consultation with my generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. military,” Trump wrote on the online platform he has since been banned from.

Earlier this month President Biden chose the first transgender woman to serve as the Assistant Health Secretary.
