Georgia rep arrested while governor signed controversial bill

Atlanta, Georgia – Park Cannon, a Democrat representing Georgia’s House District 58 was removed from the state capital and arrested.
Cannon contested the signing of the Election Integrity Act of 2021 by knocking on Governor Brian Kemp’s door as he was signing it. Cannon was asked several times to stop and issued warnings. Cannon continued on and she was later arrested. The signing of the bill was closed door and was only attended by Republicans.
