Texas brothers make suicide pact and kills four other family members

Allen, Texas – Brothers, Tanvir and Farhan Towhid, made a pact to commit suicide together, but that pact also led to the deaths of four other family members. Leaving behind a suicide note on Instagram, “Hey everyone. I killed myself and my family. If I am going to die, I might as well get some attention.”

The four other family members are the parents, father, Towhidul Islam, 54; mother, Iren Islam, 56; grandmother, grandmother Altafun Nessa, 77; twin sister to Farhan, Farbin Towhid, 19.

The grandmother, Nessa, was visiting from Bangladesh was scheduled to return the previous week, but she postponed her flight due to the pandemic.

Sgt. Jon Felty of the Allen Police Department told NBCDFW, “I’ve been here 21 years in Allen. We have never had an incident like this in the 21 years that I’ve been here. So, as you can imagine, it’s just a tragedy.

The Bangladesh American Community of Dallas-Fort Worth area posted a flier on their Facebook page and will be hosting a candlelight vigil Wednesday evening.
