New York doormen fired after an investigation of an attack of an Asian woman

New York City, New York – Two doormen are without a job after their employer, Brodsky Organization, investigated an Asian woman that was attacked right in front of them and they offered no help. The men were working in the lobby of their building when, Brandon Elliot, 33, and Vilma Kari, 65, were walking from two opposite directions in front of the doormen’s building.

Elliot allegedly called Kari racist names before attacking her. Video has gone viral of Elliot kicking and stomping on Kari as the doormen stood by watching and did nothing to stop the attack, but close the door to protect themselves. Elliot previously served time for the murder of his own mother 20 years ago. Currently serving a lifetime parole, he is charged with felony assault as a hate crime and if convicted, he could face up to 25 years.

Residents of the Brodsky Organization have come to the doormen’s aid by writing an open letter to management, “most certainly mischaracterizes” their actions and that they did not believe the staff members had “failed us as residents, our Midtown Manhattan community, nor our fellow AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) New Yorkers.”

The local community started a GoFundMe for Kari and managed to raised as much as $261K during the time of this publishing.
