It’s been five months since the death of long-time host of Jeopardy, Alec Trebek. There has been a number of popular celebrities mentioned to take over his place and who has also guessed hosted for Trebek.
But there is one person that keeps receiving the general public’s nod, Levar Burton. The long-time host of popular children’s show, Reading Rainbow, Burton is believed to be by many to be perfect as the new host for the trivia show. An online petition was started in November on Change.org as a means to help encourage Sony Pictures Entertainment to hire Burton. Appreciative of the thought, Burton then tweeted the link and thanked the public for thinking of him as a new potential host.

Now after so much support and push from the public, Burton is throwing his hat in the ring. Back in November after Trebek’s death, Burton posted on Twitter, “Even if nothing comes from it, I can’t tell how much how I appreciate all y’alls love and support! On Monday, Burton tweeted his interest again of hosting Jeopardy, but this time making it be known for the. Tweeting, “Leaving this here in the event the powers that be are listening…”
