Overnight protests erupt after 20-year-old shot dead by police

Brooklyn Center, Minneapolis – Just 10 miles north of Minnesota where the Derek Chauvin trial is taking place. Protests erupt after the shooting death of a 20-year-old Black male.

Identified by his mother as, Daunte Wright, 20. Wright called his mother and informed her that he was being pulled over, believing it was because he had an air freshener hanging from his rearview mirror. During the stop it was discovered that Wright had a warrant out for him.

While being handcuffed, Wright tried getting escaping back into the car. It was then when he was shot. Wright was able to only drive off a few blocks before crashing.
